Daktronics is installing a new video display system above centre ice in time for the Kitchener Rangers’ Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season home opener on September 26 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex, commonly known as the Aud.
The new ‘super-system’ in Kitchener, Ont., will feature top and middle-mounted video ‘rings’—measuring 0.6 x 28 m (2 x 91.5 ft) and 0.9 x 27 m (3 x 89 ft), respectively—and 2.4 x 0.9-m (8 x 3-ft) corner displays, in addition to four main 2.4 x 4.4-m (8 x 14.5-ft) screens on each side. The Aud will also receive one 2.1 x 3-m (7 x 10-ft) auxiliary seating video display and two ribbon displays, one on the east side measuring 0.6 x 59 m (2 x 193. 5 ft) and one on the west measuring 0.6 x 39.5 m (2 x 129.5 ft).
“With the help of Daktronics, we are confident our upgraded system will provide memorable and exciting in-game video production for Rangers supporters,” says Adam Bramhill, the Rangers’ manager of game and retail operations.
