Imafix Visual Communications in Terrebonne, Que., has installed a Truepress Jet2500UV printer from Screen USA to achieve higher-quality output at a greater level of productivity. Imafix was established in 2005 with some basic equipment for producing signage, advertising graphics and visual identity programs. Building its customer base among ad agencies and throughout different industries, the company developed extensive experience in project management and began to obtain national contracts, including its largest Canadian vehicle wrap production job in 2007. Imafix’s new Truepress ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) printer produces up to 7.1 m2 (76.5 sf) per hour, with output as wide as 2.5 m (98.4 in.). It can handle flexible or rigid media up to 50 mm (2 in.) thick, including polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), corrugated plastic sheet, glass, wood, styrene, metals and even stone. In addition to the flexibility and durability of its UV-cured inks, including white ink, the multilayer printing capabilities of the Truepress can produce a relief in each image.
