Fujifilm Canada is introducing Inca Digital’s new Onset S40i flatbed ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) inkjet printer to the national market.
Building upon a six-colour platform, the printer adds double white ink capabilities, for a total of eight channels. The machine is designed for the production of backlit, frontlit and double-sided day/night point-of-purchase (POP) display graphics, where the ability to print high-opacity white as a base, spot colour or top layer can be very useful.
The new press incorporates 224 Fujifilm Dimatix printheads on a full-width print array, including 56 printheads for white ink. It can reportedly achieve throughput up to 557 m2 (6,000 sf) per hour on substrates up to 51 mm (2 in.) thick.
The Onset S40i supports Inca’s Print Run Controller (PRC) variable-data job management software, as well as ReporterPro software to share updates with print customers. A UV sensor system also monitors the machine’s condition and alerts the operator when automatic cleaning is required.
