The Town of Tignish, PEI, has obtained some new signs for the community, one of which is for Bicentennial Park, installed on the washroom building near the park entrance, and another is a welcome sign for the town, according to a report from peicanada.com.

The park sign will be installed immediately, while the new welcome sign will go up in the spring.

The new signs were designed by Blain Buchanan Signs in O’Leary.

The new welcome sign will replace the old one which was rotten, which can be seen coming into town from the west end of Church Street.

Further, according to the report, Morrissey Richard, who took on the task of getting the new signs for the town, asked council if they could plan to budget in the next fiscal year for three additional welcome signs. These will replace the existing ones at the end of Dalton Avenue, across from the PEI Liquor Store on Church Street and at the entrance to the town on Route 2.

The already purchased signs cost around $200 each plus tax, and,  if approved, the additional signs would cost somewhere around $600.
