The Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC’s) February 2018 Metropass features an image of a prominent street mural created by artists Jessie Durham and Melissa Luk in 2011 for the rebranding of the Riverside Business Improvement Area (BIA).
All of this year’s Metropass cards will showcase distinctive murals that have become integral components of neighbourhood streetscapes throughout Toronto. The series began in January with graffiti artist Omen’s 2014 StreetArToronto Underpass Program (START UP) work for Scarborough Junction.
The Riverside BIA commissioned Durham and Luk’s mural to celebrate the neighbourhood’s role as a gateway to Toronto’s east end.
