Two students at Ryerson University’s School of Graphic Communications Management (GCM) in Toronto are among the recipients of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA’s) 2018 scholarship program.
Sophomore student Natalie Hague (pictured, below left) and freshman Edwin Bang (below right) have each received US$2,000 to support their education in the fall 2018 semester. Ryerson is an active SGIA educational institution member school.
“We had a large field of students to choose from, more than six times as many as in 2017, and their applications were so strong,” says Erin Nuss, SGIA’s manager of academic and training programs. “The industry has a lot to look forward to when these students come into the workforce.”
Hague and Bang are Canada’s only students among the 15 chosen for this year’s scholarships at eight colleges and universities. The other schools include California Polytechnic State University, California University of Pennsylvania, South Carolina’s Clemson University, Missouri’s College of the Ozarks, Illinois State University, North Carolina State University and the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
