UP Express rolls out digital signage

up2Montreal-based X2O Media’s visual communications software is driving a new digital signage network for the Union-Pearson (UP) Express train service in Toronto, which was launched this summer in time for the Pan Am Games.

The network’s approximately 80 screens provide important information at the rail route’s four stations, from Union Station downtown to Pearson International Airport at the city limits. Thanks to multiple real-time data sources, the screens let passengers know when the next train will arrive and which track it will use, along with up-to-date flight information, weather and news. UP personnel can also take over an entire screen for priority messaging.

“X2O is thrilled to be part of this air-rail link,” says David Wilkins, president. “Our platform will provide both flexibility in UP’s messaging and consistent access to the timely information passengers want and need.”
