The Capital Regional District (CRD) has made improvements to mountain biking trails in the Vancouver region after approving guidelines for the activity last spring.
According to a Vancouver Island Free Daily report, staff have completed site visits of the Mount Work Regional Park mountain bike area along with the South Island Bike Society and did a walkthrough of the park’s network in early spring to look at trail re-alignments, rehabilitation projects, and improvements of trails.
Difficult and intermediate single-track trails are updated in the park, some trails have been deactivated, and several previously unsanctioned trails have been formalized.
The upgrades feature new mountain bike rating and wayfinding signs which will be installed in the Mount Work area.
