RP Visual Solutions, Christie Digital Systems and HB Communications recently teamed up to build what is reportedly the world’s largest light-emitting diode (LED) video wall at the Westgate Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.
The architecturally integrated video wall is a 6 x 67-m (20 x 220-ft) curved array of 1,640 Christie Velvet flat-panel LED tiles, featuring a 2.5-mm (0.1-in.) pixel pitch. It spans the length of the facility’s newly renovated Westgate SuperBook, a 2,787-m2 (30,000-sf) bar with more than 300 lounge seats where visitors can bet on a variety of sports. The goal of the project was to create a stadium-like experience, where each of these seats seems like it is in the front row.
“To say it’s large is a giant understatement,” says Randy Pagnan, owner of RP, which also worked on the tallest video wall using Christie’s MicroTiles at Ontario’s University of Waterloo in 2013.
