Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show features Canadian-made backdrop

Montreal-based PNH Solutions produced a panoramic stage backdrop for last fall’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which was held at the Pudong Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China, and broadcast in 190 countries.

PNH printed 13 mesh panels for the nearly 6,317-m² (68,000-sf) backdrop, which were joined with zippers, suspended from the arenas ceiling with an aluminum cable and held together at the bottom with modular steel piping. A non-reflective material was specified, so it could receive continuously changing projections throughout the show.

All of the graphics and hardware were assembled and disassembled at a rehearsal in Quebec City before the long transit to Shanghai, during which the panels suffered no creases or folds.
