During the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games, Canadian broadcaster CTV used two video walls on location in London, England, to help create an immersive environment for its ongoing event coverage.
Factory-certified technicians from Advanced—an audiovisual (AV) integrator based in Mississauga, Ont.—flew to London to manage the installation of the video walls, using Orion liquid crystal displays (LCDs), then stayed to provide on-site support and services throughout the games.
“We are proud of the success of this project,” says Mark Mulford, president and CEO of Advanced. “Our on-site team provided support and because of this teamwork, the video walls were fully functional and operated without interruption during the events.”
Each wall comprised 7 x 3 panels with ultra-thin bezels, creating the illusion of a window overlooking London’s Trafalgar Square. To complete this effect, a window treatment was added at the top of each array.
Advanced was chosen for the job with a long history of experience providing broadcast systems to CTV and its parent company, Bell Media.
