Viscom 2014 promises twice the space for six themed areas

viscom2014As Reed Exhibitions’ Visual Communications (Viscom) trade fair returns this fall to Frankfurt, Germany, it will take place in two halls for the first time, with enough space to comprehensively cover six core business segments and accommodate rising numbers of international visitors.

The six themed areas, covering roughly 800 m2 (8,611 sf) of Halls 3.0 and 3.1 at the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds, will showcase large-format printing, signmaking (including various illumination and advertising technologies), digital signage, point-of-purchase (POP) displays, packaging and object design (including textiles, tiles, floorcoverings, wallpaper, décor and plastics).

“Two years ago, Viscom Frankfurt was bursting at the seams,” says Petra Lassahn, director. “The expansion this year to the upper floor not only keeps pace with our steady growth, but also affords an opportunity to better structure the fair with our target groups in mind.”

Some of the segments are new this year, including packaging and object design, which Lassahn credits for attracting a large share of first-time exhibitors—but she also cites the increasing interest in the show around the world as a major factor.

“The fair has become widely established as a must-attend event not just for the German market, but for the industry as a whole,” she says. “International dialogue at the fair is one of our strong points.”

In 2013, when Viscom was held in Düsseldorf, some 20 per cent of trade visitors came from outside Germany. Lassahn is optimistic about further positive developments in this regard, with some 13,000 visitors expected from more than 70 countries.

“Our event’s lifeblood is discovering and combining new forms of customer communication,” she says. “Anyone visiting will bring back ideas and inspiration to their business.”

Viscom 2014 will take place from November 5 to 7. For more information, visit www.viscom-messe.com.
