Environmental graphic design (EGD) firm Entro has participated in the expansion and renovations of the Toronto Reference Library (TRL), providing wayfinding design for the entire site, including signage naming the library’s collections.
Located on Yonge Street just north of Bloor Street, the TRL is reportedly the world’s busiest urban public library. One highlight of the building’s revitalization has been the Marilyn & Charles Baillie Special Collections Centre, a fifth-floor rotunda that opened to the public earlier this year. It houses nearly two million items and features the Arthur Conan Doyle Room, a tribute to the Sherlock Holmes author, with multiple editions, translations, adaptations and parodies of his work, along with a Sherlock Holmes chess set.
Toronto-based Entro created donor recognition signage to honour the Baillies’ contributions to the TRL’s refurbishment.
