Wide-format printer vendor announces major executive changes

Signmaking equipment manufacturer Roland, based in Hamamatsu, Japan, has promoted Dave Goward to president of worldwide sales and executive officer. Rick Scrimger succeeds him as president of Roland DGA, the company’s U.S.-based sales, service and distribution business.

The changes were effective January 1, 2013. Goward (pictured, left) will continue to serve Roland DGA in Irvine, Calif., as CEO for the rest of the year to provide strategic guidance as he takes on his new international role. He has more than 30 years’ senior-level management experience, including 18 years with Roland.

Scrimger (pictured, right) has 20 years’ experience in product management, marketing and sales, including 15 years with Roland DGA, most recently as vice-president (VP) of sales and marketing. He is now responsible for day-to-day management of the U.S.-based company and providing market insight to the product development team in Japan.

“I’m eager to build upon the track record of growth and success Dave helped establish,” he says, referring to the 600 per cent growth seen during Goward’s tenure.
