edit1[1]3M Canada’s Extreme Wrap Challenge culminated in a contest between three finalists on September 23. Cameron Blancher of Unique Media Solutions came in first, followed by Wrap Ton Char’s Dan Desroches in second and Evil Kitty Graphics’ Ben Bieber in third.

Having been named finalists on the strengths of their graphic installation portfolios, Blancher (pictured, left), Desroches (centre) and Bieber (right) faced off at Toronto’s Design Exchange (DX), each wrapping a bar fridge, a hockey helmet and a six-surface wall.

A panel of judges, including Sign Media Canada editor Peter Saunders, reviewed the projects after one hour—without knowing who had wrapped which item—and noted any deficiencies. After tabulating the scores, 3M announced who placed first, second and third during a special customer event at the CN Tower.
