Restyling film manufacturer Arlon Graphics brought installers from all over the world to its booth at last month’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nev., to take part in a vehicle wrapping competition.
The event, dubbed Arlon Automotive World Wrap Mania, started with six teams of five installers each competing for the titles of (a) best-quality and (b) most creative wrap. They were tasked with wrapping half of a vehicle, including the most complex areas, within three hours using the company’s Blue Aluminum, Toxic Green and new Ultimate PremiumPlus Silver Chrome films.
“The inclusion of Silver Chrome demanded a higher level of skill and innovative thinking from the installers,” says Ritchie Daize, Arlon’s automotive business development manager.
After Arlon’s automotive specialists judged the results, the best-quality wrap award went to The Wrap Society (work pictured, above), led by Niel Scotto of ND Vinyls in New York, N.Y., while the most creative wrap award went to Team RICO (below), led by Carl Brewer of Las Vegas-based The Wrap Installers.
